Swagelok VCR® Fitting Installation Guide
Swagelok VCR metal gasket face-seal fittings provide a reliable, leak-tight metal-to-metal seal, ideal for ultra-high-purity systems. Before assembly, ensure all sealing surfaces (gland, body, and nut faces) are clean, undamaged, and free of contamination—any imperfection can compromise the metal gasket seal. Install a new VCR metal gasket between the mating face-seal surfaces (gaskets are single-use and must not be reused once compressed). Bring the components together and tighten the nut finger-tight first, then continue with a wrench to the specified engagement per Swagelok instructions (typically a small fraction of a turn past finger tight as per the exact fitting size and material). Make sure to support the tubing or components during tightening to prevent rotation or stress on system connections. After assembly, perform a leak test at operating conditions to confirm system integrity.
