Swagelok Fittings

1. Ferrule-Type Fittings

Ferrule-type fittings, commonly used in fluid systems, are designed to provide leak-tight and vibration-resistant connections. The most widely used configuration today is the Double Ferrule design, consisting of:

Front Ferrule – Grips the tube and prevents vibration.
Back Ferrule – Provides a secure seal by compressing onto the tubing surface, forming a mechanical seal when properly tightened.

These fittings are essential for ensuring reliable and safe connections in various industries, including oil and gas, petrochemical, gas distribution system and general industrial applications

2. VCR® Metal Gasket Face Seal Fittings

VCR® fittings are designed to provide high-purity, leak-tight connections by utilizing a metal gasket (seal) that ensures a metal-to-metal sealing mechanism. This design offers superior leak prevention and high-temperature resistance compared to ferrule-type fittings

Important Considerations for VCR® Fittings

Single-Use Metal Gaskets – Each gasket is a one-time-use component. Reusing it increases the risk of leaks, as the gasket deforms upon installation, losing its sealing integrity.

3. O-Ring Seal Fittings

O-ring seal fittings operate on the same fundamental sealing principle as VCR® fittings but replace the metal gasket with an O-ring. This change introduces key differences in temperature resistance and reusability.

Types of O-Ring Seal Fittings

VCO® Fittings – Designed for high-purity, leak-tight connections with the added benefit of easy disassembly and reassembly.
Ultra Torr Vacuum Fittings – Specifically designed for vacuum applications, providing a secure and reliable seal with the ability to easily disconnect and reconnect without compromising performance.

4. Cone and Thread Fittings (High-Pressure Applications)

Cone and Thread fittings are specifically designed for high-pressure applications, supporting pressures of up to 60,000 psig. These fittings require precision machining and skilled installation, as the tubing must be threaded before assembly.

5. Micro Fittings and Weld Fittings

Micro fittings and weld fittings are designed for ultrahigh purity (UHP) applications, where contamination control is critical. These fittings are commonly used in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceutical and biotechnology and specialty gas system and etc.
