A back pressure regulator controls the inlet pressure, acting similarly to a relief valve but offering greater precision. For instance, if a system requires an inlet pressure control of 300 psi, and the back pressure regulator is set at 350 psi, it will release excess pressure into a vent line or designated outlet whenever the pressure surpasses 350 psi. This helps maintain stable upstream pressure and prevents over-pressurization
